The 1st International Conference on Sustainable Management of Public and Not for Profit  Organistions Conference will be jointly organised by The University of Bologna, the University of Sydney, the International Research Society for public Management (IRSPM), Accademia Italiana di Economia Aziendale (AIDEA), and the Italian Academic Network for the Development of Management in Public Sector (SIVMAP).

Theme and focus of the Conference

Sustainability Management of Organisations Group and is a purposely formalized research group set up to focus on

The Conference will promote research excellence in relation to these complex and evolving subject areas by both enabling academics to recognize those elements of their work that might relate to the function of the group, and providing a forum for discussion of their research.
As well as provide the opportunity for researchers, teachers, students, and practitioners to draw on each other’s expertise to further inform their own work in this emerging field of research and practice and therefore consequently, will foster relationships between like-minded academics with the intent of the identification of common ground for publication and research collaborations.

Jointly organised with The University of Bologna, The University of Sydney, the International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM) and the Italian academic network for the development of management in public sector (SVIMAP).

The Conference

Type of papers

Interdisciplinary, national/international full papers. Participants must submit full papers by the end of January 2009. Papers will be double blind reviewed.

Deadlines and Important Dates

Deadline for submissions of proposals (full papers): 30th January 2009
Deadline for notification of acceptance and changes to apply: 30th March 2009
Deadline for submission final paper: 30th April 2009
Deadline for loading full paper: 1 June 2009
Conference: 1-3 July 2009

Special Issues

Selection of papers will be published in a special issue of Public Management Review. All contributors can submit their paper to be considered for the special issues. Papers will go through a standard double-blind review process. The special issue will be guest edited by Prof. James Guthrie.
